Hangar 4 displays aircraft from the Pacific Theater of World War II, World War II training aircraft, and aircraft from the Korean War. Highlights include the Boeing B-29A Superfortress, North American P-51D Mustang, Vought F4U-4 Corsair, and North American F-86E Sabre.
Kamikaze: A display of Kamikaze aircraft and uniforms and flight gear used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service and Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. The aircraft on display include the Nkajima Ki-115 Tsurugi Kamikaze aircraft and the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka two seat Kamikaze trainer.
Freshwater Aircraft Carriers: During World War II, two Lake Michigan sidewheel steamers were modified as aircraft carriers to train future naval pilots. This topic is explored through models, a General Motors FM-2 Wildcat recovered from Lake Michigan, and artifacts recovered from the Wildcat’s cockpit.
