The Arizona Aerospace Foundation is currently accepting applications for volunteers at the Pima Air and Space Museum and the Tucson Military Vehicle Museum. See these positions below and apply!

Volunteer Areas

Do you enjoy meeting and interacting with people from around the world? Do you have a fascination for technology that you want to share? If so, volunteering for the Arizona Aerospace Foundation might be right for you!  

Below are brief descriptions of the activities that volunteers fulfill at the Pima Air & Space Museum (PASM) and the Tucson Military Vehicle Museum (TMVM).  

Restoration Volunteer- PASM Only

Assist staff with the assembly/disassembly, repair, repainting, moving, and maintenance of the museum’s aircraft collection. Job requires occasionally strenuous work both indoors and outdoors all year round. Some functions may require the use of personal protective equipment such as dust masks, respirators, and protective clothing which will be provided when needed.

We are looking for volunteers who are self starts, willing to learn new skills, work under staff leadership to complete projects in a timely fashion and be willing to help in all stages of restoration. 

This position is  Monday – Friday only.

Exhibits Volunteers- PASM Only

Assist Staff with assembly/disassembly, repair and maintenance of the museum’s exhibit collection. This includes but not limited to cleaning/dusting aircraft and exhibits, building exhibits, and doing general handyman work around the museum. 

Skills related to wood working/carpentry, sheet metal fabrication, and general handyman skills highly desirable.

This position is available Monday – Friday only.

Aircraft and Vehicle Dusting- PASM and TMVM

Assist staff with dusting aircraft and vehicle exhibits at both Pima Air and Space and Tucson Military Vehicle Museums. Volunteers will follow museum protocols and use approved cleaning solutions to ensure displays appear clean for museum guests. Some aircraft may require the use of a ladder or step stool to dust. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and complete and pass a background check. 

This position is available Monday Saturday.

Public Program Volunteers- PASM and TMVM (not currently accepting applications)

Engage with museum visitors and help inspire the next generation of engineers by sharing the wonder of aviation and technology! Volunteers will engage with visitors through short 15-minute talks scheduled throughout the day. Artifact Carts that allow visitors to get an immersive experience and Experience Carts that let kids explore STEAM concepts though quick and simple activities will be placed around the museums.

Volunteers must be willing to work with the general public providing excellent customer service to guest of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds. 

PASM- Position is available Tuesday-Monday from 10:00am-3:00pm. 

TMVM- Position is available Sunday-Saturday from 9:00am-5:00pm.
