Dassalt HU-25A Guardian

The HU-25A Guardian is a version of the Dassault Falcon 20 executive jet.  The Falcon 20 originated as the Dassault-Breguet Mystere 20 in 1961.  First flown in 1963 the Mystere 20 was an 8-seat executive passenger plane intended for long range business travel.  Many were sold in the United States as the Falcon 20 with American made General Electric CF700 engines.  In 1982 the United States Coast Guard adopted a modified version of the aircraft designated the HU-25A Guardian for use as a high-speed search aircraft.  The only pure jet powered aircraft to ever serve in the Coast Guard the Guardian was used to search for accident survivors at sea and for anti-drug patrols.  The aircraft were modified with a large viewing window in the right-hand side of the cabin.  The Guardian served in the Coast Guard until 2014 when the last of them were retired.
