Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame

The Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame is located in the Dorothy Finley Space Gallery and offers museum visitors a unique opportunity to acquaint themselves with noteworthy Arizona aviators. Established by a joint proclamation of the Governor of Arizona, the Pima County Board of Supervisors, and the City of Tucson in 1985, the Hall of Fame is a permanent shrine to Arizonans who have played a role in or made a significant contribution to aviation and aerospace history. Noteworthy honorees include: former United States Senator Barry Goldwater, astronaut Frank Borman, and Doolittle Raider David “Davey” Jones.

Make a Nomination

The Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame (AAHOF) rules require nominees to have been born in, raised in, or lived in Arizona while making the majority of their aerospace contributions. The significant aerospace contributions must have been completed while residing in the state and bringing credit to the state. Anyone can nominate by submitting a detailed form with supporting documentation (photos, articles) to the Pima Air & Space Museum by their deadline, with specific criteria focusing on statewide impact and achievements in aviation/astronautics.

Simply having an aviation career, an aviation-related military career, or being a good pilot does not reach the threshold for induction into the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame.

Key Nomination Criteria:

Arizona Connection: Nominee must have been born or raised in Arizona or have lived in Arizona for most of their aerospace contributions.

Aerospace Impact: Achievements must be in aeronautics or astronautics (aerospace) and bring special recognition to Arizona.

Living or Deceased: Both living and deceased individuals are eligible.

Click to button above to nominate a candidate online or to download a Microsoft Word document/form. After a nomination is received, if accepted, the Honoree is invited to attend an Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame (AAHOF) awards dinner and Induction Ceremony.
